Ivan, I've heard Pink Floyd for many years but never questioned where the name came from. Google says: "The name is derived from the given names of two blues musicians whose Piedmont blues records Barrett had in his collection, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council. Originally the band was called "Tea Set." The new name was created on the spur of the moment when it was discovered that another band, also called the Tea Set, were to perform at one of their gigs."
