Yeah I spent a lot of time thinking about that speech he gives about humans actually being a virus (continuing to reproduce using up resources till everything is gone). Really messed me up back then, like yeah he's the villain but he's not really wrong...

Then why do humans (as a species) seem to dedicate themselves to overwhelming their environment and use far more resources than are actually available. I'm thinking the huge cities in deserts (no water or way to produce enough food for the citizens) or even the fact that so volume of food that is consumed is far beyond what can be produced where people are living and has to be shipped long distances. Yes technically humans aren't a virus but as a species we certainly seem to act it...
Then why do humans (as a species) seem to dedicate themselves to overwhelming their environment and use far more resources than are actually available.
