Be careful with the last money-saving tip (with the aluminum foil). Heat can collect behind the glass and cause the glass to burst - make sure there is some air flow.
Ummh... boomer here... Can't say there is anything significantly different from the money tips they gave us in the 70ies... And I agree with the comment on the last one. Outside shades or shutters are the only safe thing to keep heat out and the windowpanes in one piece
I don't get it... do people NOT already do these things?... if you wanna go as far as my parents did... use old newspaper as toilet paper, don't pay for heat just breathe under your blankets, and if you have kids let everyone KNOW hoe poor you are so they leave bags of "stuff" intended for Thrift stores at your front door.
