Veda, nothing sad about it. We are not a small landmass that is easily connected by public transportation. You don’t step off a train and walk anywhere in the US unless you are in one of the large cities. Public transportation wouldn’t be practical nor desirable here.
Speak for yourself. A lot of people in the US would love to have more/better public transportation! Start regionally, and take it from there. 44 wanted to, but it went no where. :(
#29 Totally makes sense with all the hunting for those northern areas to be red. I expect the rest of the continental US is shocked how many people have guns in Alaska and Canada. Heck, I was anti-gun and now I own two antiques for fun.

have you been in the world? to drive across Texas would be driving across multiple countries in Europe
