Completely true, I got a shirt that was a mens XL for the Asian market (super cheap), normally I wear a XXL really baggy but comfortable so I figured it would fit fine. Yeah no I ended up giving it to someone that normally wears a medium and it was still small for them. Real self esteem/ego killer...

For shirts, I’m XL in the US, XXL in the Philippines and Thailand, and XXXL in China (they size by height, not weight). I’m 186cm tall, ~98kg.

Japanese bra sizes are a whole nother scale as well, its just a matter of being on average much smaller people

It's a baby, they're supposed to be fat. If you had any children you'd know that a few kg more isn't bad at all, as soon as they start to walk they'll lose the extra weight and it helps wgen they get ill and don't want to eat...
