Ivan, The International Astronomical Union (IAU) downgraded the status of Pluto to that of a dwarf planet because it did not meet the three criteria the IAU uses to define a full-sized planet. Essentially Pluto meets all the criteria except one—it “has not cleared its neighboring region of other objects.”
Who elected the International Astronomical Union (whatever that is) to determine by what name the rest of us call things? I do not know of any vote that gave them ultimate authority to determine what was what. You can call Pluto a planet if you want to. You can call it dwarf planet, or a rogue moon, or whatever you like.
As always, public opinion and wide spread use of whatever term people want to use will determine what it is, and the self-appointed authority will be ignored.
Dahl, Scientists. A body of democratically elected astronomers to represent a voice for the science of astronomy, based on group consensus of elected experts. So yeah, you're a moron, lol...
Dahl, I call you an idiot and bland as a low sodium rice cracker, as there is no ultimate authority to determine what was what. From now on you are called Idiot Bob
