I don't have the energy to point out the stupidity of many of these posts.

#3 - in the USA the top 1% of income earners (those who earned more than $540,000) earned 21% of all U.S. income while paying 40% of all federal income taxes. The top 10% earned 48% of the income and paid 71% of federal income taxes.

Jacobus,

It's not the income that makes you rich. It's not the income that needs more taxation.

Sis, then stop income tax and put a flat tax on all purchases. And local governments should not be able to add on to it.

Nicole,
you should understand that a flat tax benefits the wealthy as well. Currently the "poor" pay no taxes. Wait til you hear about how single moms are subsidized and are a net negative on the economy and pay absolutely no taxes

Nicole,

No, simply start taxing wealth as well. This could, of course, result in less taxes for you (except you are a billionaire)

#13 There can’t be public transportation everywhere. In big cities, it makes sense.

#21 Business class should cost the same as economy? WTF?

#23 I have only bought bottled water in countries where it’s unsafe to drink the tap water, and it’s not very expensive. Bottled water in the USA is a rip-off.

Car insurance, you're required to have it in most states (I would anyway just cause I'm paranoid) but if you make a claim regardless of what happened your rates are going up. "If an accident happens we're here to help you" " What do you mean your car got damaged? We'll have to up your rates to make up for this massive loss..."

Nicey, I'm pretty sure the insurance you are required to have is to cover any damages you inflict upon other innocent parties. Where I live it is like that; you are only required to have the mandatory insurance that cover that type of damage. You're not required to insure the car. If you wreck it and you're left with only the loan it's your problem. (And that would be stupid). If you have a crappy car you don't insure it's value for sure, as that would be a waste of money. You still don't want to be liable for millions in medical expenses if you cripple someone.

Nicey,

Even better, the rates go up even if there was NO DAMAGE, and you make a report because you are a nervous Nelly, who has never had to report touching another car (in your late 30's) and there is no actual claim... the rates STILL go up.

#19 you are brainwashed. Taxes are good. Roads, schools, hospitals are build with taxes. If you build them with private money, they become even more expensive and even worse in quality. This would be a whole new level of scam

Sis, No one advocates for NO taxes - taxes just need to be reasonable - which is probably what he was trying to say in one word

Nicole,

it's not the taxes that have to be reasonable, it's more the way they get spent. Don't know how that is in the US, but in my country there's waste of taxpayers money all over, while at the same time public infrastructure rots.

#22 cellphone headphones usually suck and I'd rather not have MORE EXTRA waste, thank you.

#28 That's not a scam. You have the choice of NOT eating that overpriced burger.
