I have an end table like this that I made, perfect use of old encyclopedias. And before anyone starts screaming "you destroyed perfectly good books!!!" I tried to donate them and was told by several places they didn't want them and to contact my local paper recycler...

yes it's unfortunate that society doesn't care for old books anymore. they want the edgy cussing, motivating, sexual innuendo books.

I think it's more that old encyclopedias have outdated information that can be accessed in many other places...
