Tryphena, this is what happens when people get accustomed to having money. People are spoiled and feel entitled. This is mostly in the west (of which I am a part). The only way this will reverse is via a global war - people will quickly change their tune if they (or their brother, cousins, uncles, whatever) are conscripted. I say that with great sadness but short of some sort of global catastrophe people are just going to get worse.

I rather wished, there would be a sort of a worldwide punisher.
Not a war, that kills innocent people, only a pennalty for the sinners.
And not the death pennealty, but prison or cripple them.
After a cardiac arrest (and obviously being reanimated) I can tell you, there was nothing on the other side:
No old man with a beard, not a battalion of maids with harps, nor virgins (neither 42 nor 72) even no one eyed giant with two crows on his shoulders an an impressive home with 1'000 doors and 10'000 rooms.
Just nothing.
The only thing, that happened, that I was reborn or reincarnated in my former body with my former problems. FML...
So, a punishment has to be done in this life.

#16 "last of the old growth"?? As a person who lives in the Northeast Rainforet this statement is as ignorant and dumb as it sounds. Just because the continental US has destroyed their "old growth" is nothing at all compared to a country that is literally nothing BUT ancient trees.

I first discovered this for Magazines, where any that weren't sold had covers torn and then dumped (like 10 would sell and 100 get destroyed).
