Most of these are far older than 30 years (i.e. the nineties); the iron in #37 must be over a century old - yes, contrary to modern legends electrical appliances were used as far back the fifties and sixties...

They had vacuum cleaners and washing machines in the early 1900s. In 1986 I lived in an apartment that had exactly one electrical outlet. The place was built in 1913, and the outlet was for a vacuum cleaner. In the 1920s was it was probably also used for a home radio, according to the electrician who was there installing more outlets.
