#16 This movie left me gutted. This is the Mona Lisa of silent film. An absolute masterpiece in every possible way.
Renee Falconetti, in a not too dissimilar way, was like Max Schreck in Murnau's "Nosferatu." They were discovered...blew everyone away with only ONE movie...and disappeared into legend.
Every other movie about Joan of Arc cannot compare to the sheer power and emotion as this. Watch it in the dark with a whole box of tissues.
