I still have those speakers as in #12 - Best sound from a computer ever. Harman/Kardon speakers.
$47 - This "modem" setup was never popular in Europe and Africa - so this photo is rare for us folks outside the USA to see.

that's a teletype. It's a way for deaf people to use a phone to talk to each other. the modem is not used in this set up.
and we had acousti-couplers in Europe as a modem, too.
