I know Gen Z people who don't even own phones, nor do they know how to use computers or tablets regardless of the OS. I'm older, and was using DOS 6.22 before most of the OPs were alive. I graduated to Windows 1.0x, and used everything after that except for Windows ME and Windows 8 because they had more issues than I cared to put up with. I'm on Windows 10 right now, and when I get a new laptop that's capable of running Windows 11, I'll start using that. (That said, if I could have stuck with Windows 7 I would have.)
Characterizing entire generations by the attributes of a few is pointless, and yet it continues.
as a young granny this is saddening to witness some of these disconnects. “social media” is a business, and is not helping anyone here, they are motivated by money not wellbeing. call each other using telephones. text regularly if possible. visit them. share your worlds before the journey becomes impossible. my hands hurt.

Most older people are alone.
