Check to see if there's a breaker panel or an actual fuse box not a deal killer but if the panel is that old there are probably other problems like asbestos insulation on the furnace. I looked a a house, saw the fuse box figured ok I would need an electrician to come in an replace plus check the rest of the wiring. Then I saw the hard fabric looking insulation on the furnace ducts, walked right out and got in my car and left. One out of 2 would be expensive but doable, both no way not me...
"If you walk into a house and are hit by the smell of Febreze or air fresheners…well, expect that it probably smells like dogs or smoke when that stuff wears off. Bear in mind that a lot of agents like to burn pretty-smelling candles or bake some cookies right before an open house, so it’s not a hard-and-fast rule. You mostly want to watch out for it if you’re seeing it by appointment."
