Check to see if there's a breaker panel or an actual fuse box not a deal killer but if the panel is that old there are probably other problems like asbestos insulation on the furnace. I looked a a house, saw the fuse box figured ok I would need an electrician to come in an replace plus check the rest of the wiring. Then I saw the hard fabric looking insulation on the furnace ducts, walked right out and got in my car and left. One out of 2 would be expensive but doable, both no way not me...

"As a construction guy, please, please, PLEASE check the attic. People buy houses and never check the actual AC. If you go up there and smell a burnt smell, or see big silvery tubes that look crumpled, those are issues. If there is any strong smell, don’t buy. No one spends $80 on Glade Plug-Ins unless they are trying to hide something."
