#14 Doesn't this actually protect them from sub-zero temps? I thought fruit growers do something like this to protect crops...I could be wrong.

Woodrow,yeah they do that to protect the Flower or flowerbuds from freezing BUT only if the flowers are beginning to grow and a Cold snap is Coming (mostly for Cherry and Apple)
In this case they didnt need that at all.thats thuja. The lamest and cheapest plant you can Buy and winterhard
