#10 the 18 wheeler and how does this work if approaching a speed hump or bump? If the fancy metal is bolted on strong enough the truck would stop maybe quite suddenly.

#39 Of course, it is reversed. 8 to 15 centimeters is about 3 to 6 inches.

But the baby does not care because they cannot see much past the end of the arm as they reach out to grab the blurry thing in front of them.

Tabby,
i wonder how they came to that conclusion? brain scans? guessing? tearing out the eyeballs of a newborn and shining lights thru them to see if they can perceive?

Leon,
The blurry eyesight of newborns is caused by the 'untrained' eyes (there's not much to see or focus your eyes on in a womb). You can exactly see and measure at which point they can focus by looking at their eyes. A newborn is pretty blind (and they don't have object awareness).

Leon mistaking the imperial and metrics measures aside, as a first time father of a newborn this is one of the many things i am learning in our first couple months as parents including that they can only perceive contrasting colours and patterns. as Leon explained, their eyes can see but their brains haven't yet learned how to interpret visual information. seeing a newborn learn how to experience their new world is so amazing. as scary as it is i can only now appreciate how amazing it is.

Do you have a statistic about how many are killed by crows?

Lon,

That’s literally untrue. There aren’t even a billion birds in the US. Much less, songbirds.
