I'm sorry, but Rock and Roll? I think the UK has us beat there. Or at least equal. The Beatles, Rolling Stone, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, The Clash, Sex Pistols, Eric Clapton and the list goes on and on.
Sure, we have Aerosmith (which i dont think holds a candle to most of the British bands mentioned but is probably the US's most successful rock band of all time), Hendrix, the Doors I'd say in a head-to-head competition the Brits take the win.
