The baby box is built into the wall a 24 hour manned fire stations. An alarm will sound in less then a minute after the outside door is closed. Fire fighters/EMTs open a door from the inside of the fire station. They have saved dozens of babies around the country that have them from death in a dumpster or when the mother just can't handle a baby and neglect to death.
Duty, was done in my state. not the stupid boxes but just drop off at hospitals. only worked for 6 months before people started dropping off 6 older kids. the government didn't want the responsibility after all. Also they're not anonymous. they track you down.
Lidia, Too many teenagers having babies; little to no support at home; and the girls are under-educated and overwhelmed. They do not use birth control while having sex; think it will be all fun and games raising a child, and then reality sets in to the hard work and responsibilty.
When you live in a disposible society, with few repercussions, the poor child gets dumped onto someone else, or worse.
Lidia, I agree with all of the sentiments expressed. However I doubt baby drop boxes are a thing. I don't believe the one pictured is real. too many legal barriers. If I'm wrong, post a photo of one.
