What's with this fixation of starting a descriptive sentence with a pronoun "This" or "These"? The strive to make it sound 'hip' and 'now' makes stupid and low-brow and actually invalidates the sentence as complete. It becomes a grammatically erroneous incomplete sentence. "This such and such"....Yeah?...what about it? So?
