#12 why have a dog if you're gonna leave him home alone 5 days a week? No wonder he does this. It's not cute or funny.

Thursa,
Living in an apartment it always kills me when I see other tenants with large dogs. For the reason you stated.

Thursa,
You don't know if the dog will be alone. My dog does something similar when I leave but she is never a full day at home alone, my wife is home on all days I go to the office.

True, but it happens a lot; too much if you ask me

It's hilarious! The dog nose the owner will be back.

I suppose we cannot all be home bodies where mom and dad pay for everything our whole lives. Am I right, Thursa?

#23 Not true. Those asteroids would have fallen at the Earth long time before life even appear.

Minty, Not true? Are you denying that Jupiter's gravity attracts many asteroids (and comets, i.e. Shoemaker-Levy 9) away from earth? Also, your comment is quite unclear.

Asteroids captured by Jupiter in the Lagrange points are called Trojan Asteroids. They are in fact much more hazardous for life on Earth than free asteroids.

Pete,

Yeah, but I like how it says "without it Earth would be inhabitable." I know it's supposed to read uninhabitable, but ironic they goofed like that.

And to the Dufus, neither bill Nye nor Degrasse are celebrity hacks. They know what they talk about.

Lu,
The only thing Bill Nye is qualified at doing is presenting ideas to a tv camera. He has no training in science or physics etc.

Minty,
I suggest you spend some time watching/reading Neil deGrasse Tyson. Among the many topics he covers regarding Earth and the Universe, Jupiter and asteroids are one of them.

Steph,
OR you know, just read a kids book on asteroids. Neil is a hack celebrity. no different than a Bill Nye

Leon,

It’s true. Tyson is not the brightest star in the galaxy when it comes to astrophysics. He’s perfect for getting children interested in the field. But, that’s pretty much where it ends.
