#29 28.000Bucks? In Germany it would merely cost about 1.000€ and every insurance would pay for it.

The land if the free is also the land of robbery through medicare. Unbelievable.

Kathryn,

When a 3rd party is paying, people don't care what it costs and you end with this...

Ples,

When it's the Gov't that's paying it wouldn't cost that much at all. Private insurance companies .. everyone's paying into it with their premiums. The money to pay hospitals is taken from that even when you haven't paid $28k into it. Having the Gov't involved helps the people who can't afford private health insurance.

Jap,

You’d have to be a moron to want the government in charge of your healthcare.

Jap,

The government doesn't have any money. It's the taxpayers that pay the bills. Unless you're a deadbeat... that's YOU.

Ples,

What about insurance for every one, like in european countries. The goverment will only pay the basics for those who can't afford the insurance. Everyone can have choose to have premium service by paying more.
I can't unerstand that people claim "no health care" for the poor is a good idea (even in the US there is very basic health care for everyone, isn't it?)
