They might be more common in Vermont (not sure about that either) but I've seen them all over New England...

#51 It's the artificial additives have changed, and the type of grease/fats they use. Sugars are more refined for smoother textures. Which results in a waxy mouth feel and off taste. Only if you ate the old recipes would you even know.
