I would say most of them wear makeup. Even if a woman looks like she is not wearing makeup, she might have some kind of face cream with some color, color in their eyelashes and/or some lipstick with light color. It's some kind of magical see thru makeup, that tricks you into believing they are all natural. I lived together with female roomies.
