Like many of you, I own my own car and have the worry that it’ll happen to me eventually. I wouldn’t call it a lifehack, but I’ve learned from the technicians that putting my parking/hand brake on before putting my vehicle in park reduces the stress on my transmission, prolonging it’s overall lifespan.
So everyday when I pull up to a parking spot it’s:
1. foot on the brake pedal
2. parking brake on
3. shift to park"
Today, I don't even need an alarm clock any more, I just wake up before it anyway.
