In the US most of the people pushing for these kinds of changes are the same people that are spending untold $$Billions for wars that are irrelevant to us. Capitalism isn't the problem - it's misdirected priorities.

There are no "irrelevant" wars; we all have to deal with it, sooner or later, in one way or another.

Jayme, No, he’s right. Russia/Ukraine is absolutely irrelevant to us in the USA. Israel/Hamas is absolutely irrelevant to also. What happens there has NO bearing one me or my community. These wars are nothing more than a politician pissing contest to those of us in the USA. We need to just stay out of it.

Elvira,I am so sick of countries that are all one race, one religion, and practically politically identical tell the USA how to manage the extreme diversity of people who escaped all those countries.

Also every comment made on this post was made in a computer or phone that was made by less fortunate people so shut up

Also you can't get an MRI at a farmers market

Also houses in communist places are still made of wood just like capitalist places except that in communist places leaders can irradiate people to save the forests

Also, living in peace with nature in huts and having drum circles is fine but we aren't saving the planet from a comet or getting our life force out of this solar system without exploitation

Also, half the population of the world would starve if it weren't for the efforts of Nestle and Monsanto

We are now quoting Marx? Are we serious? Do you realize how many hundreds of millions died un Socialism and Communism? Bodies in lime pits? Capitalism has raised millions out of poverty and improved the quality of life for millions more.

Magdelina,

Moreover, ask any Leftist to accurately define "Capitalism." They'd have a hard time spelling it, much less properly describing it. At this point, every Marxist seriously should be shot on sight. I'm not even remotely being sarcastic. shoot shoot shoot

Sis,

This is typical Left-Wing deception...state 'as fact' something entirely unprovable. Because, they know you can't prove them wrong, which is true. Their whole philosophy is to lie and cheat to get their way. The ends justify the means. The Left are the only political entity who feel they are legally exempt from producing hard evidence supporting their batshit claims. Yet demand it from their enemies.

#6 I agree wholeheartedly with all of those.

#9 That's not true. Just because there are douches who buy them doesn't mean they have no use. If you've ever done construction, lived on a farm or did any job that requires hauling equipment a bigger truck is mandatory.

#11 that's sweet to want flowers, where I live the flowers turn to fire fodder after a couple months and with the idiots throwing things out their windows as they drive by, they will turn into wild fires.

#13 Maybe you destroy them. I give away any of the fruit from my trees that I can't use, so does everyone I know.

#21 what a load of cr#p, it is you and everyone else, the plastics you use, the gas, the oil to lubricate things. It's in the core of everything you do.

#42 if it's abandoned, who is there to run the engines and who is there to fill the fuel tanks?

#3 That is consumerism.

The way it was explained to me... Capitalism is earning money for what you do (product that you make or service that you perform); whereas consumerism is encouraging people to buy things that they do not really need, just so you can get their money to buy things that you may or may not need. And the government makes money off of every transaction, so they encourage you to buy more things so that they get more of your money.

Helene,
mostly right. but people are the problem wanting to keep up with the neighbors and deluded by ads and false hope.
Government makes money from lobbyists as well. more than taxes.

#8 False. Under capitalism, anything can have a value...it just depends on who's buying it. If it was bought to keep as a forest for use as a park, then it's value is based on the revenue they can get for using it as such. If it's to be used as a wood supply, then it's value is as such. In the end it all depends on who you can get to buy it and for what purpose they are buying it for.

And another thing, healthy forestry practices are almost universal in the USA. Harvesting timber and leaving the forest strong enough to thrive is practices almost exclusively

Environmentalism is just Marxism in disguise.

#5 That's a complete lie. I live in PA and there are free lunch and reduced price lunches available to the poor. This policy identifies parents with the means to take care of their kids yet fail to do so.
