That's projecting/identifying/creating human qualities onto non-human objects or animals. A vase is made to look like a human hand holding some flowers, or a gecko stands and walks and talks like a person.

When I had chicken pox as a kid I stayed up for two days straight and kept seeing Abrahm Lincoln in the leaves outside when I lay on the couch. After I got better I could never see the patch of leaves the same.
