"It’s a little handle that locks/unlocks the metal bars that divide up the middle drawer. It slides freely in both X and Y directions to divide the drawer into rectangles of any size, but you have to twist to lock/unlock it. They probably twisted too hard, or moved it without unlocking
I wouldn’t blame the in-laws. I have a fridge also, and it is cheaply made. We have broken plastic pieces as well."

If a dog would piss my door, i would follow the owner home and piss on his or her door.

#14 The answer is wrong. These Spanish houses don't usually have gutters, so when it rains a lot of water bounces off and damages the wooden doors over time. To prevent this, you put up these wooden boards.
Something different are the plastic bottles filled with water. You put them up because people think that the dogs prefer to pee on the bottle rather than on the corner of the house, but it's questionable whether it really helps. But lot's of folks do it anyways.
