#5 - I'm an older guy. I intentionally hold the door for women (and men) because it's a gentlemanly thing to do. I have yet to provoke a negative response and I've been doing it for many years most people seem to appreciate it. I know there are some angry women out there, but I haven't encountered any from opening doors. I have had people not hold the door for me and I could tell it was to send me a message - I always think those people's parents must have been miscreants to let their kids get that way.
