#29 Therapists are not qualified to diagnose mental illness. From experience, therapists aren't qualified for anything, except bringing up something they read about well before you came in the room.

#39 Raise your hand if you take "cancel culture" seriously?

#47 Yeah, your therapist read that somewhere. Supposed to help. Doesn't really know why.

Indie, I spent most of my life being told by 'therapists' what all my 'mental and emotional issues' were, and how I could overcome them by thinking differently or some sh#t. Finally, at age 63, I had a full neuropsych assessment done - months of tesing of every kinda imaginable. Turns out I'm autistic, so badly I actually did 'break the test' (technical term: over-reporting indicated, which means the test can't handle symptoms that severe). NO amount of 'therapy' would ever have helped.

If you think you have any psych problems, don't spend a single dollar on treatment of any kind until you've had a full neuropsych assessment.

Without a full assessment, going to a therapist is no different than going to a palm reader. 99 of 100 of therapists should be in jail for fraud. Good luck.
