Peter, And whatever form of any language you speak is repulsive to the previous speakers of that language. Newsflash: expecting others to speak the way you do is like expecting everyone else to wear the same clothes you do, listen to the same music you do, etc etc: it doesn't happen.
I have never known a legitimate linguist who would say something such as what you and the vaunted Edny wrote here. Not one. No grammar nazi I have ever known has studied so much as one minute of linguistics.
And there is no one educated linguists hate more than grammar nazis. You are narcissists who believe that, because you speak that way, you're correct, and that anyone who doesn't speak the way you do is incorrect. Narcissists. Nothing more.
A 'language' is nothing more than a cluster of dialects. No one of them is somehow the 'pure' form of the language group. Not even the academics in their ivory towers can properly claim to have developed the so-called 'correct' form of a language.
