starting from the fact that people has to study, work and move anyway, and the train is for sure better for the environment than commuting by car, those "emissions" would be the same for the train and tracks , less for wind-based generators than nuclear or gas/oil plants , giving 30 years of useful life or more, try to calculate how many tons of CO2 emissions will be avoided
