#19 is a common but stupid viewpoint. Boomers did not buy a house with a minimum wage job. We got jobs that required an education, a professional skill, and /or hard work. We did not expect to be handed a 3-bedroom house for working the counter at McDonald's.

Appoline,

Exactly!!
Minimum wage jobs were for teenagers to learn work skills and have a little spending money.

#19 Boomer here. First, about ten years ago I knew a young woman who was about to graduate college - which she paid for by working her way through school. Yes, she was graduating debt-free because she worked her way through school. Bonus: whatever her cum was, it would be doubled by employers who understand the value of what she accomplished by 'working her way through school'. And whatever the prestige level of her school was, it was multiplied exponentially by the fact that she *worked her way through school*.

Second, because of extremely bad health, I was homeless multiple times in my 20s and 30s. While i was homeless, I continued to pay my student loan. There were days when I ate nothing but pretzels and water; nights when I slept on floors; years when I spent more time in hospitals than working. But I continued to pay my student loan. I am sick and tired of hearing how hard you pathetic little children have it. Shut up; grow up; and handle your responsibilities.

You pathetic. little. children.
