"Picked up a part time second job to pay down credit cards/save for a vacation and saw this in the break room. This is a franchise, so I’m not sure if this is normal for McDonald's or not. But imagine putting in your 30 years, getting ready to retire, and being presented with $300 and getting told to buy yourself something "special"."

All these read like they're from a dystopian hell hole. I am glad to live in Germany: Mandatory paid vacation leave of 25 days and above. Maternal paid leave for 14 Months (Mother AND Father). Strict work enviroment standards.

Frederick, you're talking about France. Germany has 20 paid days of vacation. Also working in Germany feels just like a different kind of hell.

20 is the minimum in many cases; it's more like 25-30 days. and not just paid vacation also up to 6 MONTHS of PAID sick leave. and more bank holidays.
