Archie, 'casted' is becoming common. By the time your grandkids are in school, it may be standard. That's how language evolves. Every word you use was, at one time, a corruption of whatever came before it - unless you think the entire English-speaking world woke up one day and said 'hey everybody, let's all stop speaking Old English and start speaking Middle English. All of us. At one time.' No self-proclaimed 'grammar nazi' I've ever met or heard has had any decent instruction in linguistics - especially etymology. And no serious linguist I've ever heard has had anything respectful to say about grammar nazis, except that they're pedants, narcissists, and jingoists (ie bigots). So when you 'correct' someone's grammar, you are announcing to the world that you are, in fact, uneducated in linguistics.
