But there’s something seriously off about the famous moment when Cage’s Benjamin Franklin Gates steals the Declaration of Independence. Other than the sheer lunacy of those words put together in that order. When Ben reads the Declaration later, we see it starts with “We the people”. But that’s the opening to the Constitution, not the Declaration of Independence. The Declaration begins with “When in the course of human events”. Either Ben made a serious miscalculation, or that’s a huge filmmaking error!"
