Rissa, I live - modestly - in one of the wealthiest places on earth. To be clear: I am not one of the wealthy ones; I'm on the other end of the spectrum. But I do long walks through some of the wealthy neighborhoods, where I've met some of the nicest people I've ever met. Two of them invited me into their incredibly lovely homes. They treated me as if I were a neighbor. They were humble, and treated me as kindly as anyone could. ...On the other hand, the downtown area, which is inhabited by the mostly not-rich, has become a cesspool of alcoholics, indigents, and aggressive gangs of middle class punks. These people have turned the once-gorgeous downtown into a dive, where crime and tension are becoming more rampant. These people are like rats in a bag. It's becoming unsafe; it looks more like a slum every day. These people have harassed me on a regular basis. ....But go ahead; blame the rich for your failure and unhappiness. The rich could all go broke tomorrow, and you'd still be a failure.
