Curiously enough, the big crowds in the latest Hollywood movies were created without CGI and special effects.

This year the Hollywood film industry celebrates its 100-th anniversary. I wish I could have a time machine to travel back to those black-and-white times of Charlie Chaplin silent movies, The Birth of Nation and many other wonderful old films. I just love these Hollywoodland pictures that demonstrate a long and interesting history of Hollywood. Take a look, maybe you would also get this feeling of nostalgia?
About Hollywood too:
When Pranksters Had Fun with the Famous Hollywood Sign! (8 pics)
The famous landmark in the Hollywood Hills area of Mount Lee in Los Angeles was created in 1923 as an advertisement.
Unfortunately for the advertisers, this sign was a frequent target of pranks and vandalism at that time.
Luckily for us, there’s always someone to take a photo, even at that time…
So let’s see now how the sign looked like when it was pranked or vandalized…
In a beautiful part of southern China there are some mountains called the Southern Sky Column Mountains which have recently been renamed to the Avatar Hallelujah Mountains after the floating mountains that were featured in the blockbuster movie Avatar. The floating Hallelujah Mountains in the movie were the inspiration of a Hollywood photographer who, in 2008, shot photos of the Southern Sky Column Mountains. Now, tourists can go on a tour to see Avatar's floating mountain and learn that they were once called the Southern Sky Mountains.
Remember in 2007, during the 7th of July, lots of people got married because of the symbolic 777 formed by the date, well, lots of people got married too for the 09-09-09 (999). But here, there are even more ‘9’ in the story: 9 couples got married in a 99 Cents Only Store (Hollywood), in the Aisle 9. The first couple got married at 8:09 a.m. The costs of each wedding: 99 cents.
That’s quite unusual, that’s original, but that’s not what I would qualify as a good idea and that’s definitely not something I would have done…
In this vast pool, commercials, music videos, episodes of various TV shows are shot.
The "film set" is a huge reservoir of 1.2 million liters of water.
The temperature of the water is always around 32 degrees Celsius so that the actors feel comfortable.
This post with a small number of photographs shows the working process, revealing how it is all done in Hollywood.
So, Keira Knightley, Sharon Stone and others on the underwater film set:
Luke Kay, 42, has sold for £1 million of Hollywood productions stuff. For the story, his huge collection was the cause of conflict with his wife Sharon, who banned it from the house, in Swindon, Wiltshire. They split 3 years ago after 21 years of marriage.
Actually, his collection was so big that he stored it in his house, in another house and two storage units. But he decided to sell his collection because it was too much to keep.
He possessed stuff that had really been used in famous productions such as Star Wars (outfits worn by Luke Skywalker, other suits and his original light sabre, full size replica of Jabba the Hut, of R2D2, of Yoda and outfits worn by Han Solo and Anakin Skywalker), Battlestar Gallactica (original helmet), Knight Rider (one of the original ‘Kit’ cars), Predator (original mask), Power Ranger (mask).
