How do you think, what are they doing?
Much to the surprise of some climbers, this abandoned Russian MI 8 helicopter was found on Mount Elbrus. Apparently it is too difficult to try to salvage in spite of the fact that it is worth $10,000,000. That kind of money will buy a lot of evacuation.
It would be a perfect place for some shooter computer game like STALKER.
Different sewage tunnels are located in Russia and Japan and they are really creepy...
There was a strange accident during the Victory Day parade held in the center of Moscow on May 9. A tank of World War II times flipped over, but was quickly covered and towed away.
This prison looks horrifying. Arkhangelsk High Security Penal Colony in Russia has nothing in common with Halden Prison in Norway. If Halden looks like heaven, Arkhangelsk prison looks like hell. About 1500 prisoners have to work hard in this “prestigious” colony that consists of a correctional facility CF-28 and a prison-settlement correctional facility CF-23. Not much freedom. This is a real punishment for a committed crime.
Cold, calm and dangerous – this is the best description of Russian spetsnaz, a term used for special purpose units. As you can see, these are portraits of veterans who used to work for Russian spetsnaz. Photos are taken by Dima Beliakov. This photographer does know the best way to perfectly illustrate every person’s character.
These chopper concepts are designed by Mikhail Smolyanov known as Solif in Russia. What can I say, all works seem pretty unique and original, and so they might find enthusiasts who would help to turn these concepts into real choppers.
Russians know how to surprise the world. For instance, while most people enjoy taking pictures with people who are alive, the leader of the Federal Project «Russian Necropolis» Izyaslav Tveretskiy loves to take pictures on the cemeteries.
We’ve presented you earlier this year some cool hand-made metallic objects crafted by some Russian guys.
Well, they made a lot more since and it’s still awesome!
Don’t miss it!
We posted a compilation of Russian Hip-Hoppers in August which was a pretty funny selection. Well, here, it’s a bit the same, except that it is focused on Russian wiggers and it’s really funny too… ))
For those who hear the word for the first time: Wigger is a pejorative slang term for a white person who allophilically emulates mannerisms, slang, and fashions stereotypically associated with urban African Americans and urban Black British and Caribbean culture, especially in relation to hip hop culture and British Grime/Garage scene. Some sum it up simply as ‘acting black’.
How do you think, why did they all gather there and what are they looking at?
Look at this picture. Does it seem natural for the time when it was taken (1915)? I'm sure most of you will say that it was photoshopped and fake. Well no, it's a real photo taken by the Russian photographer Sergey Prokudin-Gorsky.
Faced with a grandmother like that - behave yourself nicely! Russian women are tough ;)
I don’t even know if this pictures should be commented.
Briefly, a guy got very drunk, was walking around the hotel in his boxer shorts and then went to swim and..hop, he started to feel bad because of alcohol.
Well, one should drink less it is a fact.
A man came to a Russian forum where he asked to help him to “nail down” the windows of his new house in Photoshop. He said that in order to get a home insurance the house windows should be nailed down and as the whether was not to sunny he didn’t want to go there to do it himself. That’s why he asked guys on forum to do it in Photoshop and make sure that it looks realistic.
Here’s the photographs of his house. And what his got you'll see after the jump )
This is a very ineteresting material to read, even if it is quite long. It comes from Englishrussia site and really worth reading.
During the Soviet Union era, to guide their cargo ships through the dark polar night across the Russian Northern coastline which is situated inside the Polar Circle, the Soviets decided to build a chain of lighthouses. To make them fully autonomous, because they were situated hundreds and hundreds miles aways from any populated areas, Soviet engineers decided to implement atomic energy to power up those structures. So, special lightweight small atomic reactors were produced in limited series to be delivered to the Polar Circle lands and to be installed on the lighthouses. Those small reactors could work in the independent mode for years and didn’t require any human interference, so it was very handy in the situation like this.
Then, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the unattended automatic lighthouses did it job for some time, but after some time they collapsed too. Mostly as a result of the hunt for the metals like copper and other stuff which were performed by the looters. They didn’t care or maybe even didn’t know the meaning of the “Radioactive Danger” sign and ignored them, breaking in and destroying the equipment. It sounds creepy but they broke into the reactors too causing all the structures to become radioactively polluted.
