Bohumil Lhota, 73, is a builder form Czech Republic. He claims that he is tired of building ordinary houses, so from 1981 he has been building his own subterranean, rotating home. Lhota has been doing the work mostly by himself. The “Roundabout House” can rise above the ground and rotate. Its upper level has living quarters with a view over mountains, while the lower level is a swimming pool.

Whangapoua Sled House is located near an idyllic beach in New Zealand. The place lies within a coastal erosion zone, so the hut has been built on two thick sleds in order to be easily moved when necessary. Having a total area of just 40 sq. m (430.5 sq. ft.), this holiday retreat can easily accommodate a family of five.
