These amazing photos are of an eruption of an underwater volcano in the South Pacific. The power of Mother Nature is truly incredible. Although these photos were taken at some distance you can almost feel the power.

Take a look at this monster’s round jaw. It looks horrifying. But this creature is fantastic, as it can survive in extreme environments that would kill people and most animals and even survive the vacuum of space. It can stand temperatures of as low as -273 degrees C (-460 degrees F) and as high as 151 degrees C (303 degrees F). It can stay alive after boiling in hot water, and getting 1,000 times more radiation than humans. It can spend almost a decade without water and food. Probably, these monsters would have seized our Planet by now if not two circumstances. On the one hand, they are extremely small (the biggest adults are able to reach a body length of 1.5 mm). On the other hand, they are slow walkers. They are even called Tardigrada because of this.
The city of Shanghai has certainly changed over the years as evidenced by the photos in this post. While the city may have been poor in the past, it certainly isn’t any more. It is new and modern and full of life.

Normally when you think of mushrooms you think of a very dark place with a lot of dank, moist black soil. Not necessarily a pretty sight. But who knew that the mushrooms that grow in that environment would turn out so beautiful? Have a look and see for yourself.

The funny papers are how we all get our morning chuckle. Most of us grew up on comic books. The funnies are how we all get a little comic relief. The comics in this post are no different. Just one more respite in an otherwise rather dull life.
Twins Nicolas Luisetti and John Paul Olhaberry got a unique idea on how to celebrate Chile’s 200 years of Independence. They froze in the air, and spent 200 minutes “levitating” above thousands of passersby.

This 182 square foot apartment belongs to airplane interior designer Steve Sauer. Steve obviously likes everything in its place and a place for everything. It is 11’ 3” wide, by 16’ 2” deep, by 10’ 4’ tall and there is plenty of room for Steve and all of his living accoutrements.
