Adventure photographer Mike Mezeul II from US took a stunning shot on the Big Island of Hawaii that captures the Moon, the Milky Way, a meteor, and a stream of lava all in one image. He only had a few seconds to do it because the risk of him getting burned was very high.
Molten rock is flowing from the Kilauea volcano and has been for the past three months. It has travelled a distance of 12 miles (19 kilometers) and is quickly approaching the town of Pahoa which could be a disaster.

“The test was performed with a box of camp waste (largely food rests) in a bin bag. Estimated weight 30kg, Size 60x60x60cm. Fall height, about 80m. The lake reacts with violent lava fountaining activity, presumably in part due to steam produced from the organic matter.”
Torrents of molten rock expelled by volcanic eruptions are a fascinating sight that shows us how mighty the processes that go beyond the crust of our planet are.
