The glass lift is built into the side of a mountainous cliff in the Wulingyuan area of Zhangjiajie, China. It is a staggering 1,070 feet (330 m) high and is claimed to be the highest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world.

The Hotel del Salto was opened in 1924 near Tequendama Falls, Bogotá River, Colombia and closed down in the 1990’s. People speculate that the hotel was haunted and this is why no one wanted to stay here but another reason could be that the river was polluted.

This sustainable treehouse community is named Finca Bellavista and is situated on 600 acres of land in the mountainous region of Costa Rica. The development was started by Mateo and Erica Hogan, a married couple from Colorado, and consists of seven treehouses for rent. Visitors to the community are treated to a forested, riverfront setting that boasts waterfalls, hiking trails and wildlife. The cost of the rooms varies from $100-$275 per night.

As the name suggests, “Barbie Café”, which has just opened in Taiwan’s capital city, Taipei, is designed around the original Barbie doll toy. Taiwan has been chosen as the restaurant’s location since and themed restaurants have proven to be successful in this landscape. Barbie’s manufacturers, US toy company Mattel, hope to promote Barbie as a fashion brand to the Asian market and the staff uniforms and décor of the restaurant all accentuate the iconic Barbie world that is predominantly pink and girly.
