The largest omelet weighed 6.466 tonnes (14,225lbs 6oz) and was achieved by the Câmara Municipal de Ferreira do Zêzere (Ferreira do Zêzere City Council) in Santarém, Portugal in 2012. It took a team of 150 people six hours to make this omelet, all led by head chef Pedro Mendes. A 4,290kg (9,457lb) pan was used, with a 10.3m (33ft) diameter. In kilograms, the weight of the omelet totaled 6,466kg. They used 145,000 eggs, 880lbs of oil and 220lbs of butter.
