In 2013, dozens of Japanese commuters joined forces to push a 32-tonne train carriage away from the platform to free a woman who got stuck in the gap. After this amazing act of collective heroism, the woman was pulled out uninjured to applause from onlookers at the JR Minami-Urawa station north of Tokyo.
