Located at Racetrack Playa, Death Valley National Park, California, the Sailing Stones were discovered in the early 1900’s. These rocks’ apparent movement has been blamed on everything from space aliens and magnetic fields to animals and pranksters; however, it has been recently discovered that the rocks, pushed by strong winds, actually slide on thin ice panels.
