One of the most popular recent lists was compiled by the American Society of Civil Engineers. In 1994 they made a list of Seven Wonders of the Modern World, paying tribute to the "greatest civil engineering achievements of the 20th century". They included the Channel Tunnel, CN Tower, Empire State Building, Golden Gate Bridge, Itaipu Dam, Delta Works/Zuiderzee Works, and the Panama Canal
