Edward Burtynsky is a Canadian photographer and artist. His works are housed in over fifty museums worldwide, numerous corporate collections, and books.
Burtynsky's most famous photographs are sweeping views of landscapes altered by industry: mine tailings, quarries, scrap piles. The grand, awe-inspiring beauty of his images is often in tension with the compromised environments they depict.
What is impressive with his works is that he can take a picture of the consequences of industrialization on nature and make it beautiful.

This story is just unbelievable, it's a bit old but we never put it on the site and not everyone knows it.
Here is what happened: a couple living in Montana were outside with a mule and 2 dogs. He with a gun (he is a hunter), she with a camera. A cougar that was nearby decided that he would have a dog for dinner.
The hunter saw the animal so he wanted to shoot in the air to scare the beast but did not even have time to do that - the cougar was already approaching a dog. Here is the incredible part of the story: the mule snatched the cougar up by the tail and started whirling him around banging its head on the ground repeatedly. Then the mule dropped it on the ground, stomped on it and held it by the throat. The mule got down on his knees and began to bite the creature a dozen times. The poor animal could not do anything ...
The hunter did not even need to shoot and the woman was able to take these 4 exceptional pictures. Conclusion, if you need an animal to protect you, think about the mules, they are very effective ))

Well, after viewing these pictures, I have double thoughts. Some of them really resembles, others – not very much, only in the way they pose. Anyway, the montages are poorly made, that can be said for sure.

Here’s Allison Stokke, a young, pretty athlete girl whose picture got on the internet while she was preparing to compete in the pole vault during a high school track meet. Then, it didn’t take long for her photo to be picked up and to travel through the World Wide Web. It wasn’t done on purpose but now she’s quite popular and she said that she didn’t want to be known only for her looks but also for her performances. And it seems that she is a very good athlete too. She held seven national records; she set a school freshman record at the Pac-10 Championships, was also qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships and in the outdoor season her jump was the second-best performance in school history.
I say she has nothing to worry about. She’s really good looking and a successful athlete. Go girl! :)

Yesterday morning, the inhabitants of Sydney could observe such a fantastic picture.
A powerful sandstorm struck Queensland and New South Wales in eastern Australia. This sandstorm is the strongest since 1940.
Sandy cloud was the densest in the entire history of observations of such phenomena.
