Lake Balkhash
This is 12th largest lake in the world; Lake Balkhash is located in Kazakhstan and is odd because half of this lake is freshwater while the other half is saltwater. The two halves are joined in the middle by a narrow straight that is only 3.5 kilometers wide and 6 meters deep.
Ice Circles
In this amazing photo we see a rare phenomenon that occurs in slow moving waters in cold climates. These are thin perfectly round slabs of ice that rotate very slowly in the water. As it turns slowly it grinds the other ice around it causing these perfect circles.
