I'm not sure if they just suck the air out or have hot (expanded) air in it and cool it down, which makes it contract. Either way, with the vents closed the tank simply collapses.

It's a demonstration. You can hear the announcer say something about 760 (in German, no idea if that's bar, psi or something). They also bet on the value as one person is called the winner :)

It was a demonstration of the strength of the companies pressure vessels from what I remember when reading about it years ago. There is another better produced video of it without the chincy music where you can hear the implosion much better.
